Synopsis
A teen runaway eight months pregnant escapes her life of privilege and with the assistance of a polka enthusiast truck driver, discovers, near the edge of the New Mexico desert, a casino and its resident kooks. Falling in with the eccentric clan, which includes Kaiyute Indians and washed up showgirls, Mary, played by newcomer Olesya Rulin, has much to learn as she prepares for the inevitable showdown with her parents. Expecting Mary is an offbeat and charming comedy whose older ensemble cast ensures this coming of age story reconciles its schtick with substance.
